SCOAP3のWebinar参加のご案内
国立情報学研究所より、SCOAP3のWebinar参加のご案内について周知依頼がありましたので、お知らせします。
スイスにある物理の研究所であるCERNが旗振り役となり、SCOAP3というオープンアクセスの活動が進んで
おります。
このWebinarが以下の日時に開催されます。Web上でリアルタイムに映像を配信して行うものです（英語を使用）。
日時：11月18日（火）日本時間の17時から2時間程度
内容は、物理学分野の学術雑誌をオープンアクセスにし、各国の図書館がその活動を支援するというSCOAP3の現況について説明するものです（詳細は下記メール
をご参照ください）。
事前登録が必要で，Webで登録すると具体的な情報が送られてくることになっております。

SCOAP3 newsletter, you may want to ignore this message.
SCOAP^3 would like to invite you to a webinar on *November 18, 2014* to
outline the achievements to date, discuss the status of the initiative
and its future plans.
*What is SCOAP^3 ?* It is a partnership of thousands of libraries,
research organizations and funding agencies in 40 countries across four
continents. Working with leading publishers, SCOAP^3 has converted
high-quality peer-reviewed journals in the field of High-Energy Physics
to Open Access, at no cost for authors, while participating publishers
have correspondingly reduced subscription costs to libraries worldwide.
Starting January 2014, SCOAP^3 has already supported publication of
more than 3,500 articles. The partnerships is constantly growing, and in
recent months SCOAP^3 has been joined by hundreds more libraries in
several new countries and international organizations.
This webinar is delivered in English and is targeted to both librarians
and interested parties in the research community. It will be of
particular interest to members of institutions participating in SCOAP^3
as well as those considering joining it. The webinar will provide an
introduction to this innovative Open Access partnership as it nears the
anniversary of its first year of operations.

• Introduction to the SCOAP^3 repository and functionalities
(especially for libraries)
• Outlook and future developments of SCOAP^3
